Abstract
This is the first field guide in Japan detailing 103 species of sea urchins which can be seen in Japanese coasts. The book is full of beautiful photos by the authors and just looking at them is amusing enough, but the book also meets the needs of readers who want to know more specialized information. Topics covered are such as test parts required for identification, the way to distinguish them, and how to collect and prepare specimens. This book is an indispensable guide for those who enjoy beachcombing or snorkeling.
