Author’s Information

Born in Nagano Prefecture in 1954. Graduated from the Department of Photography, College of Art, Nihon University. Worked in the photography department of our company for 15 years before becoming an independent photojournalist in 1990, where he remains today. In 1994, he received the Transportation Book Award for "Railway World Dream Journey". He has photographed 95 countries and traveled to them more than 250 times. He has authored 115 books to date, including "Let's Go by Train! JR + Private Railway Sightseeing Train Encyclopedia" and "Let's Go by Train! JR Limited Express Encyclopedia". He is a member of the Japan Professional Photographers Society and the Japan Travel Writers Association. He is also a visiting professor at Tokyo Transportation Junior College.
