Author’s Information
Born in Nagano Prefecture. Copperplate engraver and picture book author. After graduating from Tama Art University, she began creating copperplate engravings after working for a design company. In 1998, she was selected for the Bologna Children's Book Fair. In 2014, she won the 19th Japan Picture Book Award for "Today is Maracas Day" (Fukuinkan Shoten). Her many other works include "Mr. Fuwafuwa is a Yarn Shop Owner" and "The Drum" (Fukuinkan Shoten), "Pero's Job" (Shogakukan), "That Girl" (both from Bronze Shinsha), "Chicken Kangoo" and "Sweet Potato" (both from Koguma Publishing).
