Abstract

On the eve of her 16th birthday, Kaya visits a certain cafe, hoping to escape a ritual imposed by her family's customs. As she sips the herbal tea she is served, she is drawn by a voice and opens a door that seems to possess a mysterious presence. On the other side of the door stands a young man who embraces her and says, "You are a maiden from another city, aren't you? Take me there." Surprised, she tries to open the door, but it won't budge. At that moment, the young man is captured by his pursuers and taken back, introducing himself as "Kagetsu." Kaya is even more surprised to learn that his pursuers refer to him as "Prince Kagetsu." With no way to return home, Kaya finds herself serving as Prince Kagetsu's night attendant, as he tells her about the world she came from (another world from this world's perspective)...!?
