Abstract

Mitsuko has a straight spine and a bright smile. She and her husband, a minister, have been running a church for over 40 years. While doing so, she raised four daughters. In 2016, she lost her husband who had been battling illness for many years. After that, she moved out of her house and moved into public housing by herself. Her pension and the tens of thousands of yen she earns from her thrice-weekly silver dispatch service are "enough" to make ends meet. Life depends on how you think. Be grateful for what you have. If you maintain your health by eating nutritious food and exercising, you won't have to pay medical expenses. Lack of money increases the joy of being able to buy a single flower. I am happy just because the sky is clear. I have already been given enough.... Mitsuko's way of life is a hope for today's generation. The photographs of her home are included in this book, giving a glimpse into her life of poverty and affluence.

Minister. Born in 1946. as fifth of eight, she was raised in minister family and she also has her sights on becoming a minister. After graduating theology university, she married a man who is also a minister. She and her husband have run a church for 47 years with three-legged race. Besides, she raised four daughters. Each of them left the nest early and now she has sixteen grandchildren. She lost her husband in 2016 after a long battle with illness. After that, she moved out of her house and moved into public housing by herself. As a cooperating minister, she attends church twice a week and sometimes preaches at the Sunday service.
Minister is a job that has nothing to do with wealth. If you don't have money, live happily with your ingenuity. Don't look back on the past or worry about the future, but live mindfully in the here and now. Stand up straight and always have a smile on your face.
