Abstract

From the author of the internationally bestselling "The Kamogawa Food Detectives" series, translated into 30 languages worldwide, comes an eagerly anticipated new series!

Her dream: to create Kyoto's finest inn!
A bold and ambitious challenge begins as Haruka Kikuzuki sets out to transform her family home, overlooking the iconic Daimonji Mountain, into a first-class ryokan.

Haruka Kikudzuki works as a lodging manager at a prestigious hotel in Tokyo. Lately, she has been struggling with what to do about the house she inherited in Kyoto.
The property occupies a prime location: just a ten-minute walk from Shimogamo Shrine and blessed with views of the Higashiyama mountains. Selling it would bring in a substantial sum, but Haruka cannot bear the thought of letting go of the home her late parents loved so dearly.
Driven by her passion for the hospitality industry, she makes a life-changing decision: she will turn the house into a ryokan, a traditional Japanese inn, and create Kyoto's finest place stay.
But where should she begin? The interior design, guest amenities, cuisine, neighborhood relations, and countless other challenges all stand in her way.

An engaging and heartwarming story of determination, offering a fascinating glimpse behind the scenes of Kyoto's hospitality industry as one woman pursues her dream of opening the ultimate ryokan.
