Abstract

With a "pa-pa-pa-pa" sound, the Panpan train comes along. The Panpan train is filled with sweet bean paste buns, jam buns, cream buns, and sandwiches. Delicious-looking bread and a train! It's a combination that's very popular with children, and you'll probably get hungry while reading it. It's also a fun way to get kids to sing "pa-pa-pa-pa" and encourage them to eat a delicious meal!

Born in Aichi Prefecture. Drawing on her experience working with many children as a former public kindergarten teacher and hospital ward childcare worker, she gathers story ideas from everyday life. Her major works include "Menmen Race" (illustrations by Yuko Kuwazawa/Holp Shuppan) and "Ding dong! Next Stop" (illustrations by Megumi Sato/Kotsu Shimbunsha), among many others. Her picture books with Ayato Watanabe include "Rice Exercises" (Froebel-kan) and "Delicious Round Man" (Iwasaki Shoten).

Born in Tokyo. She creates humorous picture books on the themes of food and child-rearing. Her major works include "Sorry, Vegetables" (Vegetable Life Picture Book Series/Hikari no Kuni), "Promises for a Walk: Fruits" (Fruit Promises Picture Book Series/Akane Shobo), and "Strawberry Santa" (Hakusensha), among many others. Her picture books with Hiromi Gomi include "Gohan Taiso" (Froebel-kan) and "Oishii Manmaru-san" (Iwasaki Shoten).
