Author’s Information
Director, Health and Medical Microbiology Research Center, National Institute of Biomedical Innovation, Health and Nutrition.
Graduated from Osaka University Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1996. Received a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Osaka University in 2001. After studying at the University of California, Berkeley in the United States, became an assistant at the Institute of Medical Science, University of Tokyo in 2004. After serving as an assistant professor, lecturer, and associate professor at the same institute, he became the project leader at his current position in 2013. He has been the director of his current center since 2019. He also holds concurrent positions as a visiting professor at the Institute of Medical Science, University of Tokyo; a visiting professor (collaborative graduate school) at the Graduate School of Medicine, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dentistry, and Science, Osaka University; a visiting professor (collaborative graduate school) at the Graduate School of Medicine, Kobe University; a visiting professor at the Graduate School of Biomedical and Health Sciences, Hiroshima University; and a visiting professor at the Nano-Life Innovation Research Institute, Waseda University. His publications include "Intestinal Revolution with Good Enzymes" (Shufu to Seikatsu Sha).
