Author Hiroshi Sakurai has spent many years traveling to Switzerland, accumulating photographs of various trains and railway landscapes. This book thoroughly explains Swiss railways through five routes centered around the coveted Glacier Express, the scenic Bernina Express, the Vorarlpine Express that traverses the foothills, the dream free-gauge train "GPX," and the Jungfrau Railway. Author’s Information

Born in Nagano Prefecture in 1954. Graduated from the Department of Photography, College of Art, Nihon University. In 1994, he received the Transportation Book Award for "Railway World Dream Journey". He has photographed 95 countries and traveled to 250 times. He has authored 110 books to date, including "Let's Go by Train! JR Complete Route Guide (Latest Edition)", "Let's Go by Train! JR Limited Express Complete Guide", and "Let's Go by Train! The Railway World: Hiroshi Sakurai Photographs Scenic Trains". He is a member of the Japan Professional Photographers Society and the Japan Travel Writers Association. He is also a visiting professor at Tokyo Transportation Junior College.
