Abstract

The author, Hiromichi Sato, was the 10th gymnastics instructor on the children's TV program "Okaasan to Issho" and is a leading expert in "exercise and play" instruction. He miraculously recovered from a lumbar vertebral infarction in June 2024. The illustrator, Osamu Nishimoto, is the author of the long-selling book "The Wonders of the Body" and is well-known for his easy-to-understand diagrams of the body's structure.

By learning about the functions of bones and muscles and becoming interested in your own body, you can become more interested in and engage in exercise and play. This is a unique picture book that links educational knowledge about bones and muscles with physical development.

Author’s Information

Hiromichi Sato was born in Tokyo in 1968. He was the 10th gymnastics instructor on NHK E-tele's "Okaasan to Issho" (Mother and Me). Including his subsequent appearance on "Asobi Daisuki" (I Love Playing), he was a regular on educational programs for a total of 15 years. In 2002, he established "SRC Company, Ltd." He conducts parent-child gymnastics classes, lectures, instructor training workshops, and family events nationwide. In 2015, he completed his doctoral course at the Graduate School of Medicine, Hirosaki University, and obtained a PhD in Medicine. He researched parent-child gymnastics and became Japan's first PhD in parent-child gymnastics.

Osamu Nishimoto was born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1964. He is a painter. After graduating from the Department of Visual Communication Design, Faculty of Art and Design, Musashino Art University, he worked as an illustrator, sculptor, and art director mainly in Tokyo. He has now moved his base to Hiroshima and is active in a wide range of fields, including art direction for art museums and museums, stage design, craft workshops, and the production of dyed works. She has authored many bestselling picture books, including "The Mysteries of the Body" and "The Mysteries of the Body: The Mysteries of Injuries and Illnesses" (Sekai Bunka Publishing).
