Abstract

For some reason, Maruo ends up attending a mushroom meeting. Even though he actually hates mushrooms...!!

One day, after his mother cut his hair, Maruo's older sister came home from school and laughed at him, saying, "You look like a mushroom! A mushroom! A mushroom!" Angered, Maruo stormed out of the house. He ended up wandering around a park when he encountered a mushroom and found himself lost in the world of mushrooms. He participates in a meeting with these unique mushrooms, goes on an underground investigation, and even dances with them... Gradually, he begins to like mushrooms...?

In the scene where everyone goes underground, you can try turning the picture book vertically, or use a gatefold to widen the scene on some pages, making it a story that can be enjoyed even when reading aloud.

This is recommended not only for children who love mushrooms, but also for children who say, "I don't like mushrooms..."!
