Author’s Information
After gaining experience as an engineer in a private company, he became an assistant professor at Shiga University's Junior College of Economics, where he taught computer-related subjects. From 1988 for a year and a half, he worked as a researcher at IIASA (International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis) in Austria, engaging in research on mathematical models that handle uncertainty. Subsequently, he conducted educational and research activities as an associate professor in the Department of Information Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Okayama University, and as a professor in the Faculty of Intelligent Information Systems, Konan University. During this time, while conducting research on soft computing such as neural networks and genetic algorithms, optimization, and artificial intelligence, he also provided guidance to many students on academic conference presentations, thesis writing, and international conference presentations, while also teaching "Information English." Aiming to overcome the difficulties he experienced with English while participating in international conferences and business trips abroad, as well as the behavior of Japanese people at conferences and the problems he felt while teaching students, he has developed a very unique teaching method.
