Professor Emeritus, Tokyo Institute of Technology. Born in Tokyo in 1950. Graduated from the Department of Social Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1973. Completed the MS program in Operations Research, Graduate School of Engineering, Cornell University in 1977. Completed the Ph.D. program in Operations Research, Graduate School of Engineering, Cornell University in 1978. Became an assistant professor in the Department of Information Science, Faculty of Science, Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1979. Became an associate professor in the Faculty of Economics, Tohoku University in 1982. Became a professor in the Faculty of Economics, Tohoku University in 1990. Became a professor in the Faculty of Economics, Tokyo Metropolitan University in 1996. Became a professor in the Graduate School of Social and Human Sciences, Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1998. Became a part-time professor in the Faculty of Management, Tokyo University of Science in 2016. Retired from Tokyo University of Science in 2021.
