Abstract

The author, who gained popularity primarily on X for posting photos themed around otherworldly scenes such as factory landscapes, massive buildings, and ruins, has recently been uploading daily photos of cats blending into alleyways and residential areas. This book is a carefully selected collection of such photos, in which the author imagines the cats saying something while taking pictures, and adds Kansai dialect dialogue, resulting in images that will make you laugh and make you feel as if the cats are really speaking. The book also includes essays by the author, Mr. Kobayashi, about his experiences photographing cats.

Author’s Information

Photographer. His work focuses on capturing the otherworldly realms of everyday life, including factory landscapes, scenes with stray cats, alleyways, ruins, and massive buildings. In addition to photo exhibitions, he publishes daily photos on social media. He also gives lectures and photography workshops throughout Japan and serves as a judge for photo contests. His numerous books, including photo collections and photography guides, include "Orune Orune: Cat Search Here and There" (Aki Shobo). He is also an Amagasaki Cultural Tourism Advisor.
