Author’s Information

Contemporary artist and art director. Known for her unique techniques of applying embroidery and other materials to photographs, magazines, fabrics, and books, she creates works that express "invisible emotions" and memories and imaginations that arise between "the inner self of an individual and the outer self created by media." Her works have been exhibited both in Japan and internationally, including the public art piece "Our New World" at Toranomon Hills Station on the Tokyo Metro. In recent years, she has also been involved in educational and regional cultural projects and serves as a visiting professor at Osaka University of Arts.
