Abstract

From bud to full bloom and then falling petals, cherry blossoms display a variety of expressions at each stage of life. Japanese people have long enjoyed the richness of time spent contemplating their beauty, writing about their changing emotions, or chatting while sharing meals. This book traces those distant memories and chronicles the journey of cherry blossoms that continues into the present day. The book's cover design uses "Asazakura" (morning cherry blossoms), a type of chiyogami paper from the collection of the Haibara Jugyoku Bunko.
