Abstract
★The Japanese Way of Life Is Rich in Sustainable Wisdom.
★A Buddhist Monk Working in the Business World Offers Practical Wisdom for Each of Us to Help Build a Sustainable Society.
Japanese ways of living, thinking, and feeling are rich in sustainable wisdom that can be put into practice in everyday life. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a set of 17 international goals for achieving a sustainable future, are often discussed primarily in terms of initiatives undertaken by organizations and businesses.
In this book, the author, a Buddhist monk who works in the business world, joins sustainability advocates active in various fields across Japan to propose practical ideas that each of us can incorporate into our daily lives to help achieve these goals.
Chapter 1 features conversations with Masahito Yamamoto (CEO of the Taneya Group and President of Taneya Co., Ltd.), Chizuru Ohara (culinary researcher), Ken Shibusawa (President and CEO of Shibusawa and Company, Inc.), Keiichi Asakura (owner of Yawaiya, a folk-craft shop), Takashi Kurata (Associate Professor at Meiji University), and Koichiro Izumi (President and CEO of Tankosha Publishing Co., Ltd.).
