Abstract

"Let's solve your bento box worries with the help of prepared side dishes." 143 Nozaki-style recipes that can be used for both daily meals and bento boxes.

◆Japanese-style bento boxes, which are based on rice, make use of prepared side dishes. Nozaki-style arrangements will enrich your daily meals and eliminate waste of time and ingredients.
◆A little ingenuity in preparation will keep prepared side dishes delicious for longer. Try Nozaki-style recipes that go beyond just making them strongly flavored.
◆Japanese food is actually very simple. No need for dashi. Nozaki-style brings out the best in the ingredients. 143 recipes, from onigiri to homemade furikake, are a must-have for your collection.

White rice is the star of Nozaki's bento boxes. "With the help of prepared side dishes, you can whip up bento boxes quickly and enjoy your daily side dishes. All you have to do is make your usual side dishes bigger, or make a lot of them. Enjoying arrangements is what Japanese food is all about," says Nozaki. This book is designed to help you become a bento box expert, but it's also a great resource for mastering basic Japanese side dishes. It includes 143 recipes, focusing on make-ahead dishes, meat dishes, seafood dishes, fried foods, simmered dishes, and rice dishes. With suggestions for minimizing food waste, such as homemade furikake (rice seasoning), it's truly a must-have guide. The packing tips are also very helpful.
