Abstract

The Men Using Trump as a "Stepping Stone"—Who is the "New Right" Shaping the Next Decade of the World?

In the United States, a new conservative force known as the "New Right" is rapidly rising. At its center is Vice President J.D. Vance. Born into a poor family in the Rust Belt, he experienced drug addiction and family breakdown, but rose to the heart of American politics through the Marine Corps, Yale University, and Silicon Valley.

However, this book is not the success story of one politician. The thinkers, policymakers, and influential figures in the tech industry who support Vance are trying to rewrite the very foundations of post-war American common sense, such as free trade, globalism, immigration policy, strategy toward China, and alliances. What are they aiming for, and why are they garnering so much support?

Based on on-the-ground reporting and interviews with key figures, the author, a Washington bureau reporter for the Nikkei, delves into the true nature of the people who will drive "what comes after Trump."

- Why is Vance considered a potential successor to Trump?
- Who are the "New Right"?
- Where is the US-China conflict headed?
- How is the US trying to change its relationships with its allies?
— Essential reading for understanding the next decade in the world.

By understanding the "post-Trump" era, you will gain insight into the deeper layers of US politics that are not visible just by following the news, and develop the ability to interpret future global affairs from a long-term perspective. A new-era introduction to America for investors, managers, business people, and everyone interested in international affairs.
