Abstract

Kanata, who has no friends, and Koko, who has lost her friends. In the summer of their first year of middle school, the two met in a secret place. Koko tells the story of Dokoka, a black cat that travels through dreams. Dokoka, a cat that travels through dreams, visits various worlds in the sleep of others. Searching for the "rainbow drop" that grants wishes, it appears before lonely people—and as Kanata listens to the story, she comes to know Koko and comes to think of her as a precious friend. Koko, too, feels the joy of sharing stories with Kanata. One day, Kanata is confronted with an unbelievable truth by a classmate. After much deliberation, she decides to meet Koko and tell her how she feels... What treasure will the two find at the end of the "what if" scenarios that unfold, mirroring the story?
