Abstract
★A World of Greenery and Flowers Awaits, Far Beyond What We Know
★Aren’t There Yet More Extraordinary Plants and Landscapes to Discover? A Journey Through the Unforgettable Botanical Wonders of More Than 65 Countries
Hiroshi Yuasa, a leading authority on the cultural history of plants, introduces the remarkable and fascinating plants he encountered while traveling to more than 65 countries around the world. He explores these botanical wonders from two perspectives: Landscapes Woven by Nature, featuring breathtaking scenery created through the interplay between plants and their environments, and Flowers from an Unknown World, showcasing rare blooms and extraordinary floral landscapes that we seldom have the opportunity to see.
Accompanied by photographs of these spectacular plants taken by the author, this book reveals the conditions in which many familiar garden plants grow in their native habitats, at a time when gardening is flourishing worldwide. It also introduces readers to the many wonderful plants found across the globe that have yet to become widely known in Japan, opening a window onto the extraordinary botanical diversity of our planet.
