Abstract

In a town inhabited by sweets, Japanese and Western sweets are always at odds and constantly fighting. Then, one day, a new resident moves in. The town of sweets is in an uproar over whether this new resident will side with the Japanese or Western sweets. The resident seems to be conducting mysterious research, transforming into various sweets every day, but what exactly is their true identity...? Author’s Information

Born in Nagasaki Prefecture. Graduated from the Department of Oil Painting, Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts. Received the Excellence Award at the 2nd Bilbo Picture Book Awards and the Grand Prize in the Picture Book Category at the 36th Nissan Children's Story and Picture Book Grand Prix. Received the Grand Prize in the Picture Book Category at the 11th Takeo Takei Memorial Japan Children's Picture Book Awards for "A Strange Tale of a Strange Town". Other works include "The Shoemaker and the Ghost" and "Kappano" (text by Mori Kumado) (both published by BL Publishing).
