Author’s Information

He is a chief priest of Rinkouji Temple of the Kenchouji sect of Rinzai Buddhism and assistant director of RESM Shin-Yokohama Sleep and Breathing Medical Care Clinic. He is a designated mental health physician, a board-certified psychiatrist by the Japanese Society of Psychiatry and Neurology, and a board-certified industrial physician. After completing his clinical training, he worked as a psychiatrist at the Department of Neuropsychiatry at Keio University Hospital and the National Hospital Organization Kurihama Medical Center. In addition to his temple duties, he is currently providing psychiatric care at clinics in Tokyo and Yokohama. In addition to medication and conventional psychotherapy, he actively introduces psychotherapy through the practice of Zen and mindfulness to treat depression, anxiety, PTSD, sleep disorders and addictions. He also gives lectures to a wide range of audiences, including businesspeople, medical professionals, school teachers, parents and senior citizens.
