Abstract

Buddhism is the way in which the Buddha figured out the reason why human worry about something and suffer. Furthermore,
Buddha explained the practical ways in which we can be free from suffering and live happily. Throughout Japan's long history, it has become one of the foundations of the country's culture.
This book is a "super introduction" to Buddhism, explaining the essence of Buddhism with humorous illustrations and words that even elementary school students can understand.
It contains many stories for example, "the story of Buddha" "fellow Buddhists" "the Buddha who protects you (guardian deities)" "Buddhist words that we still use every day" "things found in temples (temple tours)" "what Bon and Higan are for (annual events and Buddhist rituals)" and so on. This is a fun way for elementary school students to become familiar with the "mysterious world" of Buddhism. We also recommend this book as a part of your educational program.
