Abstract
From his youthful days as an apprentice to OZU, he began his film training with "Tokyo Story" (directed by Yasujiro Ozu), to his resistance against the old regime and the Shochiku Nouvelle Vague "A Tale of Cruelty in Youth" (directed by Nagisa Oshima). From the immortal masterpiece "The Instrument of Sand" (directed by Yoshitaro Nomura) to the mature masterpiece "Black Rain" (directed by Shohei Imamura), this film explores the dreams and secrets of film through a filmmaker who walked with the golden age of the traditional studios.
The new edition, to be released on April 1, 2020, will include never-before-revealed episodes of reminiscence and photographic materials, as well as five new spin-offs totaling 56,000 words!
