Professor at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology Graduate School. Graduated from Kyoto University Faculty of Agriculture. Dropped out of the doctoral course and joined the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Professor at Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology Faculty of Agriculture since 2011. Specializes in plant chemical ecology. In particular, he is involved in the discovery and use of plants with strong allelopathic activity. He continues to conduct plant surveys in over 40 countries around the world (this data was published at the time this book was published).
