Author’s Information
Born in Tokyo in 1960. Author and former senior analyst at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After graduating from the Graduate School of Theology at Doshisha University in 1985, he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He worked at the Embassy of Japan in the UK and the Embassy of Japan in the Russian Federation. He then worked at the forefront of diplomacy with Russia as a senior analyst at the International Intelligence Bureau Analysis Division 1 of the Ministry. In 2002, he was arrested and indicted on charges of embezzlement and obstruction of business by fraudulent means, and in June 2009, he was found guilty with a suspended sentence. In June 2013, the suspended sentence expired and the sentence became void. He won the 59th Mainichi Publishing Culture Award Special Prize for "The Trap of the Nation: Called Rasputin of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs" (Shinchosha). He won the Shincho Document Award and the Oya Soichi Non-Fiction Award for "The Self-Destructing Empire" (Shinchosha) (this data was published at the time of the publication of this book)
