The ornithologist meets a crow which turns a faucet and drinks running water. What do genius crows do? They use cars, place stones on railroads, steal soaps and candles and more. The author observes and reveals the truth of mysterious cases which made headline news.

Hiroyoshi Higuchi is Professor Emeritus of the University of Tokyo and Visiting Professor at Keio University. He received a Ph.D. in the ecological and morphological studies of island birds from the University of Tokyo. He served as a visiting research scientist at the University of Michigan and as Full Professor of Biodiversity Science at the University of Tokyo. He is interested in various aspects of Ecology and Conservation Biology, ranging from island biology and bird migration through the conflicts between crows and humans to the impact of climate change on birds and plants. He served as the Asian Section President of the Society for Conservation Biology and the President of the Ornithological Society of Japan.
