Abstract
The Nobel Prize winner in chemistry in 2019, Akira Yoshino, cited The Science of Candles as the "starting point of my interest in chemistry" and now it's a manga!
Michael Faraday was born into a poor family and was unable to attend elementary school properly. Nevertheless, his love for science never left him, and he went on to become a world-renowned scientist.
Faraday wanted everyone to have the opportunity to learn, so he organized a Christmas lecture during the New Year vacations. Faraday gave a number of lectures there. One of the lectures was titled "The Science of Candles." The lecture, which progressed from a single candle to the laws of nature and the wonders of the human body, was very popular.
In later years, it was compiled into a book. Many of the scientists who are still active today read his famous book, "The Science of Candles," when they were boys. In this comic, you will be able to understand at a glance the experimental equipment and its progress, which were difficult to understand in the text. The comic also introduces Faraday's inspiring life story and his successful later years.
