Abstract

Kazuo Inamori , founder of Kyocera Corporation, is a renowned believer of the “Saigo Spirit.” Takamori Saigo is one of the most well-known and influential military and politician who lived from the late Edo Era to the early Meiji Era. Since his childhood days, Inamori closely followed the thoughts of Saigo and when he founded Kyocera, he adopted Saigo’s words, “Revere heaven, love people,” as the company creed.

This book is a compilation of the highly popular serial article that Inamori wrote for the Nikkei Business magazine. In it, Inamori adds his unique viewpoint to interpret the teachings of Saigo in telling the people today to revisit them as we face the rapid trend towards globalization, excessive emphasis on money with M&A prevailing, too much stress on efficiency and social disorder seen as scandals at schools and bureaucracy.
