A bird with a beautiful voice heard from the mountains in early summer.
Some birds are about the size of a coin that live in a distant foreign land,
Some birds are much larger than humans when their wings are spread.

Birds that symbolize each country and birds that are said to have a mysterious power in old legends.

Appearance, shape, color, pattern, gesture, habit. It can be said that there are as many attractions as there are birds.

Birds are really beautiful creatures.

Born in Tokyo in 1947. In 1972, he became a zookeeper at Tama Zoological Park.
After working at Tama Zoological Park and Ueno Zoological Division, he was the director of Ueno Zoo from 2004 to 2011.
He is a member of the Yamashina Institute for Ornithology and the Japanese Society for Preservation of Birds, and a member of the Suntory World Bird Fund Steering Committee.
