Author’s Information

Ebizo Ichikawa was born the eldest son of Danjuro Ichikawa XII, and made his debut in 1983 as Togu in The Tale of Genji at the Kabukiza Theater. In 1985, he took the name of Shinnosuke Ichikawa VII and made his stage debut as Kikanbo in Uirouri at the Kabukiza Theater.
In 2004, he succeeded to the name of Ebizo Ichikawa at the Kabukiza Theater, and has been working on his own performances to pass on the traditional Japanese performing arts to the next generation.
Outside Japan, he performed at the Palais de Chaillot in Paris to announce the succession to the name of Ebizo Ichikawa XI. In recent years, he has performed in Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and New York's Carnegie Hall.
His wife, Mao Kobayashi was selected as one of the BBC's "100 Women 2016."

Reika is Botan Ichikawa IV, the eldest daughter of Ebizo Ichikawa XI. Kangen is Kangen Horikoshi, the eldest son of Ichikawa Ebizo XI. With the spread of the Covid-19, family time has increased more than ever before. The story of the demon that emerged from this experience is the basis for this film.
