Abstract
This book is a fusion of MANGA and RAKUGO, two of Japan's most popular cultures. Rakugo is a traditional storytelling art that began in the Edo period and is very popular in Japan today. In Rakugo, various stories are told using typical Japanese cultural elements as keys, such as cherry blossoms, soba noodles, kimono, Japanese swords, and waka poems. In this book, eight classic Rakugo stories are presented in an entertaining manga format. A variety of columns also give a glimpse into the lifestyles of the common people in the Edo period, featuring episodes about money, culture, love and marriage, and more. In addition, QR codes allow online access to Rakugo videos and other information.
