Abstract

The magic-infused world of Maydare is home to Makia, heiress to a rural noble family that is reportedly descended from the Crimson Witch that once plunged the land in fear. One day, Makia purchases a young slave she names Thor, gradually cementing bonds with him as they spend their days learning magic together.
On the night of her fourteenth birthday, an ominous meteor shower falls upon Maydare, signaling both a worldwide danger and the manifestation of a savior. At the same time, Makia remembers that Thor was a man she couldn't convey her love to in a previous life -- but before she can act on it, a seal appears on Thor identifying him as the guardian of the savior, a girl destined to come from another world.
The two are separated, much to Makia's chagrin, but she has a chance to see him again if she goes to a certain magic academy in the capital. She works hard to gain admission into the elite school, hoping to learn the true meaning behind her feelings. It is the start of a long tale, as the descendant of the "worst witch in the world" tries to bring her emotions across.
