Abstract

By the author of the 1st Japanese Netflix movie "We Couldn't Become Adults" and Disney+ series “Because We Forget Everything”.
SODAN NO MORI (The forest of advice seekers, literal translation) was originally a web column, features 61 articles. In each segment, the author answers to a reader's request for his advice on various worries of everyday life.
Some of them go like:
Q. "What is a suitable way to say, "thank you" to my family who took great care of me?"
A. "My mother once told me that it's okay to trouble your family as it comes in rotation."
Q. From a female reader "Should I give up my stable job to be with my foreign boyfriend, if it is a true love?"
A. "Isn't it a matter of whether to take uncertain love over the current job which could be also uncertain in a long term?"
Q. "What is your biggest worry of the year, Moe-gara-san?"
A. He quips "I realised that when one worry is gone, there will always be more than two new ones."
The author never "gives" readers clear advice. Rather, he worries and wonders together with them until coming up with possibilities of solutions. A warm-hearted word to find how to handle the winding everyday life. Our long-seller, nearly 3 years after the initial release.
