Born in 1966 in Nerima-ku, Tokyo. Graduated from Nihon University, College of Letters and Science, Department of German Literature. After working as a radio reporter and a reporter for a women's weekly magazine, she became an essayist and sake journalist, and in 2015 established the Japan Sake Association, a general incorporated association.
