Abstract

Polish illustrator Mateusz Urbanowicz illustrates old buildings in Tokyo in his "Tokyo Storefronts" series, a popular illustration project that became a hot topic when it was first published online in 2016 and featured in newspapers and on TV, is now available in a long-awaited book!
This collection contains 50 works in total, including 10 illustrations that have already been published and 40 newly drawn illustrations. In addition, the book introduces the making of the building, overhead views, episodes related to the building, and more. In addition, this book has a bilingual English translation, so you can read the explanatory text in both English and Japanese. This nostalgic guide to Tokyo buildings is written from the perspective of a foreign writer.
