Abstract
This book is planned as a revised edition of the school textbook "High-Temperature Superconductors (2nd vol.) - Materials and Applications -" published by the Superconductiors Division of JSAP. When the first edition was published in 2005, 18 years had passed since the discovery of high-Tc superconductors, and the number of young researchers who were unaware of the important early research results was increasing. More than 15 years have passed since then, and in addition to the discovery of new superconducting materials such as iron-based superconductors, from the viewpoint of applications, some R&D has already entered the phase of practical use, and in many cases, conventional metal superconductors as well as high-temperature superconductors are being used there. Therefore, this book, whose content has been completely updated to focus on applied research, covers almost the entire range of superconductor technology, from power applications to electronics applications. Since a deeper understanding of the contents requires basic knowledge of the manufacturing methods of thin films, wires, Josephson junctions, etc., which form the basis of superconductivity, the book is divided into two parts, "Part 1: Manufacturing Methods" and "Part 2: Applications," so that readers without basic knowledge of superconductivity can also understand the contents.
Author’s Information
