Abstract
A collection of fairy tales written by Nankichi Niimi, one of the most famous writers of fairy tales in Japan. Includes 12 popular episodes such as "Gongitsune", "Buying Gloves", "Dendenmushi no Sorrow", and 2 episodes such as the representative poem "Shell". These fairy tales have been read for 100 years in Japan and should be read for the next 100 years as well. Illustrator Takumi Sugiyama draws a gentle, strong, and beautiful fairy tale by Nankichi Niimi with dynamic brushwork.
Author’s Information
Nankichi Niimi/Born in Handa City, Aichi Prefecture. One of the most famous writers in Japan who wrote many poems, novels and fairy tales. After graduating from Tokyo Foreign Language School, he continued his creative activities while working as a teacher, writing many works. His representative works include "Gongitsune", "Buying gloves" and "Grandfather's lamp". In 1943, he died of pharyngeal tuberculosis at the age of 29.
