Abstract

Taisuke Yamagata, Sales Department Manager at the Daizen Branch Office of Daitei House, receives an urgent phone call from the branch office manager while out on business: “Just get back here right now. And make sure to go in through the back.” Taisuke has apparently been identified as the murderer of a female college student, with his identity, including his real name and photo, already being exposed online, causing a huge firestorm. He seems to be bragging about the murder on Twitter, and the actual owner of the account is mistakenly assumed to be Taisuke. Optimistically, he thinks the misunderstanding would be cleared up soon enough, but the account is actually quite clever, and the more people see it, the more they think it could only belong to Taisuke, and no one believes his side of the story. Not his company, nor his friends, and not even his family...
In just a matter of hours, everyone in Japan turns against him, and Taisuke continues his desperate escape, with everyone in pursuit, even putting his own life at risk in the process.
