Abstract

Nanami is a gutsy fifth grader who always pushes on, no matter how hard things are.
She has a little brother, Riku, who struggles to speak.
Their mom always does her best to care for Riku.
To help her family, Nanami sets off with fellow fifth grader Kai in search of the “magic pond,” which will make her earnest wishes come true.
However, when Kai comments about “pretending to be a good kid and losing out,” doubt begins to gnaw at Nanami...
Everything she does is for her brother and her mom. Can she really say this is “what I wish for?” Is she the one always “losing out?”
