Author’s Information

Seiji Suwa is the president of the Society for Disaster Reduction Education. He started his career in disaster education at Maiko High School, Department of Environment and Disaster Prevention. He continues to broaden the scope of disaster education to include not only how to survive disasters, but also disaster volunteerism and storytelling of disaster experiences for children, teachers, and disaster education professionals. He has been involved in many activities overseas, including in China, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Turkey, and Mongolia. He is a specially-appointed professor at the University of Hyogo (Graduate School of Disaster Reduction and Reconstruction Policy) and a part-time lecturer at Kobe Gakuin University's Department of Social Disaster Prevention, Faculty of Contemporary Society (this data was originally published when this book was first published).
