Abstract
P R E FAC E
My first watercolor food illustration was this convenience store dango that I painted in 2018. I enjoyed the process so much that I decided to try painting various other foods I found in Japan. While this started as a casual hobby, I gradually began to discover the wonderful and delicious depths of Japanese food culture. Before I realized it, I had painted hundreds of Japanese foods.
This book is not just a food illustration art book. It is also a collection of realizations and thoughts of an American in Japan regarding the culture and history of Japanese food. I hope that those reading this will find the information interesting and will use it as a guide to learning about "The Wonderful & Delicious in Japan." 80 unique foods appear. Also in English.
