Abstract

BL (boys' love) is a major entertainment genre centered on romance between men.
Although BL is primarily created and read by heterosexual women, in recent years, BL works have emerged that are freer from homophobia, heteronormativity, and misogyny than in reality.
This book is an attempt to trace the history of BL, and to uncover its mysteries, as well as how the works, the consciousness of their creators and recipients, and the way they have faced society have changed through the analysis of the works.
