Abstract

By limiting the drawing time to 60 seconds, this introductory drawing book suppresses the verbal left brain, which thinks about technique, and maximizes the work of the right brain, which perceives form. The book helps students improve their ability to observe motifs sensitively and to describe shapes clearly.

Author’s Information

Minako Matsubara is the representative of Pilika Art School, an online school for drawing. She received her art teaching license for junior high and high school from Musashino Art University. After graduating from university, she opened an art space in Fuchu City, Tokyo, and has been involved in planning and managing young artists' solo exhibitions, city art walks, international printmaking exchange exhibitions, etc. Since 2008, she has opened an online drawing school.
