Graduated from Chiba University's Faculty of Horticulture in 1976. Former Associate Professor at Chiba University's Center for Environmental Health and Field Sciences. Specializes in vegetable horticulture. Currently, he is a self-employed farmer in Mashiko and also teaches horticulture.
