Abstract

Everything from basic explanations to practice is presented in color. It is easy to think that black-and-white is sufficient for pencil-only drawings. But this is a big misconception. How do you express red and blue? How do you draw bright and dark areas differently?　The color sample images in this book will help you understand these techniques immediately. Furthermore, the basic explanations are all in color, making them easy to read and understand.

Many people may have stumbled by suddenly trying a full-body image. Let's start with hands, eyes, and other parts of the human body and get a good grasp of its features while working casually. Then, you can move on to the half body, which is easier to try, and then to the full body, where you can draw both men and women, young and old.

If you understand how the human body is made, how to express it, and how to draw it in three dimensions, your manga and illustration drawing skills will improve dramatically. The book is structured in such a way that you can learn even just by reading it.

Author’s Information

After graduating from Musashino Art University with a degree in oil painting, worked as a game character designer for major game companies such as Konami and Sega, and studied at the French atelier Académie de la Grande Chaumiére from 2005. Started working as a freelance illustrator while working on production. After returning to Japan, she worked as a teacher at a vocational school and as an art director at a game illustration company before moving abroad in 2015. Currently active as an artist.
