Author’s Information

Born in Fukushima Prefecture in 1960. He graduated from the Department of Astronomy, Faculty of Science, the University of Tokyo in 1983, and withdrew from the doctoral program in astronomy at the Graduate School of Science, the University of Tokyo in 1987. After working at the Tokyo Astronomical Observatory of the University of Tokyo, he is currently a professor and deputy director of the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan (NAOJ). He is also a professor at the Graduate University for Advanced Studies. In addition to his research on solar system objects, he is active in a wide range of fields, giving lectures and writing about the latest astronomical results in an easy-to-understand manner.
