Abstract

A world where people who are programmed to die on their sixty-fifth birthday. A world of health supremacy where the obese are collected into a broadcasted "death game". A kingdom that forbids all things related to math and numbers with a death penalty to those who do not comply. A future where all mackerel pike have disappeared from everyday meals.

A comical and slightly dark collection of stories about girls and women who live on in these dystopian worlds using their strength and shrewdness.

Author’s Information

Born 1972 Ibaraki Prefecture. Graduate of Tohoku University Faculty of Science. Winner of the 1st Sogen SF Short Story Prize in 2010 with "Agari" which was published in a short story collection of the same title. Matsuzaki has published several titles since then, and is known for her new and innovative point of view.
