Chihiro, a girl of the Yasaka family, is the guardian of the "Magatama," one of the sacred objects that protect Japan. She is born with a unique ability to increase the power of the monsters, and because of this, she is more beloved by nature spirits and mourning gods than people, and she is also targeted by the monsters who seek to gain her power. When Masayuki, the heir to the Kusanagi family that controls the "sword," learns of Chihiro's harsh destiny, he decides to protect her. However, various forces with their own agendas begin to stir around him. A boy who exorcises spirits and a girl who befriends them weave their way through this modern-day xenophobic fantasy!
